This Privacy notice provides information on how Waterloo Business Management Limited (“WBM”), (company number 06976909) provider of the Recycling Platform and services including access to the recycling portal (“WBM Portal”):

  • will share your personal data in order to provide you access to and the functionality of WBM Portal and the services provided by WBM;
  • will use and protect the personal data that you provide when you use WBM Portal; and,

For the purposes of this Privacy notice “WBM” is referred to in this Privacy notice as , “we”, “us” or “our”.  WBM is a “controller”. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you. We are required under data protection legislation to notify you of the information contained in this Privacy notice.

WBM are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using WBM Portal and the associated services we provide then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this Privacy notice.

Where you provide personal information about another individual, where appropriate, you should provide these individuals with a copy of this Privacy notice beforehand or ensure they are otherwise made aware of how his/her/its information will be used by WBM.

What Personal information Do We Collect and How We Collect:

We collect the following information for the purpose of providing the recycling service and managing your access to WBM Portal. We collect this data directly from you.

Where use of WBM Portal gives you access to third party websites. These sites are not under WBM’s control, therefore WBM cannot be responsible for any transactions you enter into with a third party nor the privacy of any information that you may submit while using those sites. If you use any of the site links provided, you are advised to check the relevant website terms and conditions and website privacy statements before submitting any personal information.

International transfers:

We may transfer your personal data outside the UK. Your personal data will be shared with suppliers involved in the delivery and collection of the recycling service. The information we transfer will only contain the company name and location, along with the details of the products you returned when using the WBM Portal for Collection Services.

Data Security:

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

Data storageand retention:

Your personal data will be retained for as long as it is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements.  We may retain your personal data for processing and in accordance with any retention periods required by applicable laws and during the relevant statutes of limitations.

  • Your right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to automatic decision making.
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
